A friend of mine, residing in Bangalore, is interested in continuing his music classes. He has practiced Carnatic vocal for 7-8 months under B.N.Jayashree in ‘Indirangar Sangeetha Sabha’, where he had progressed till ‘Pillari Geethe’.

Not fit for small children. Usha Srinivasan is very arrogant, and hurts children with words. She is also money mind
ed, and ensures she drags the courses for long time, so as to hold the children with her. Further if we go and enroll at Indiranagar sabha, she slyly asks us to bring the kid to her house instead of the sabha, since at her place, she gets full money. Child’s morale gets affected because of her. She neither appreciates the children, nor respects parents, thinks she is ultimat in music.

Hi all,
I’m the person who sent a mail to bellur asking him to suggest any good carnatic vocal classses in bangalore north-east region, but he was the one who took the initiative to post it in his blog. Thanks to Ramakrishna for that. Also, thanks to Kalyani for providing such an exhaustive list of music classes in bangalore. Unfortunately for me, there are none in the north-east region (I stay in Lingarajapura), there are some in the north region though, will try them out if nothing works out. The same for the one mentioned by Chaitanya too, thanks for that Chaitanya.

You can probably check Ganabharathi, Veene sheshanna bhavana at Kuvempunagar. They teach classical music and dance. They have different teachers for different levels.
Vid. Shreelatha(Dr. R K Shrikantan’s neice) is one among very good music teachers. She teachers at her residence in kuvempunagar(near kumar medicals)
Shri Ramasheshu is another who is worth a mention… (not too sure about his current address, may be ganabharathi may help you)
Vid Vasanthalakshmi (near baLLal circle) is another teacher who conducts classical music classes and also sahastranaama and such ones too…

The entire music field has become commerilise, such that it is very gdifficult to learn for like us middle class people, inspite of that i am learning with great & great difficulity. I hope my molarama will bless me to teach number of students with out expecting, music is not anybodies property, it is an endless divine, music teachers are becoming greedy & greedy, music should remove all types of interest on money & we should move to salvation. There are lot & lot of jobs to feed our stomach, why we should sell this music — just for coz of food, Lord Krishna will hear if we sing a single phrase with great devotion, just we have to imagine purandaradasa how he throwed all his navakoti (9 crores), music is above all that. (i wrote this replay while i was hearing nagumomu song from chittibabu’s veena, i am really crying , i cant stop)
