Dear friends,
As you might have already got to know, this is the 400th post on Rambling with Bellur. With much gratitude, a sincere ‘Thanks’ to all of you.
It’s now been 18 months since RwB has been up and running. I’ve truly enjoyed posting here and have been thrilled you have been coming to read it. Thank you for taking time out to check in with me. Also, special thanks to people who have linked to RwB.
The response I have been getting from you all has made me feel really great to be in the blog community and I appreciate it so much.
Sharing knowledge is so important and it is really heartening that RwB has got excellent contributions by way of articles, Rangoli designs, cartoons and photographs from endearing readers. I have thoroughly enjoyed posting them and reading your insightful and appreciative comments.
Earlier in the day, I was going through the comments you all made to the 100th, 200th and 300th post. Really heartening that so many of you have been with me throughout my blog journey.
Yesterday (Nov. 1), RwB got its 2,00,000th hit. (For those of you interested in stats, it was on May 25th when this blog got its 1,00,000th hit, a week before the first birthday.)
On this day, I take the opportunity to announce that RwB will go on a blog hiatus. You will agree that it is time for me to regroup and recharge.
Thank you all for your visits and till we meet again, best wishes for a healthy life ahead.
Warmest regards,
Yours humbly
Bellur Ramakrishna

Hello RK,
Fantastic stuff!!! You have given us excellent 400 posts. Get back to blogging quickly. I will miss the daily cartoons. You were one of those blogs that I could associate easily with, thanks to Bangalore, Malleswaram, Masala Dosas, RK Narayan and MSS. It was a privilege to know you and I really hope to meet you when I come to Bangalore.
Have a great time ahead, and do keep in touch!!!

Dear Bellur it is a day of mixed feelings for me very happy it is your 400th post and RWB had amazing 200000 hits it is a rare achievement It is really a blog which has created histors of sorts. statistics shows 1 lakh hits took almost one year and next 1 lakh hits took just around 5 months plus. first hundred post took 177 days and the 4th hundred took just 91 days.
nothing more is required to explain the popularity of RWB,
quality of posts and various sections posts from visitors made this blog unique and I feel proud I was part of this journey atleast for a part.
Feel sad because of blog hiatus. but we all appreciate your decisionl and I wish you cherish your other interests and also come back with a bang. breaks are part of journey and this too is needed.
I on my own behalf on behalf of all blog family of RWB wish you and your family all the best and bid adieu hopefully for a shortest time possible.
may god bless and shower his blessings on you.

When actor Balakrishna was in trouble Raj had instructed his crew to do his films shooting in Balanna’s Abhimaan studio. If you check the records you will find that it is Raj films who had more shootings in Abhimaan studio.
November 2, 2007 at 2:57 pm
Balakrishna, contemporary of Rajkumar, made very little of the so many films that he acted in for over five decades. He was practically in every film of those times, but that didn’t mean much in terms of economy. Whatever he had, he poured into his dream project Abhiman studios, and suffered huge losses with no takers for the studio. Towards his end, Balakrishna was ill and penniless.
___
In the big bad world of films, there are people who are famous, people who are rich, people who have luxurious life-styles. There are also some people who are not well known, People who have been neglected, and people who are in big financial trouble.
These people are former actors, directors, music directors, singers or other technicians. They have served the kannada film industry for a long time. And sadly, No one from the present generation seems to remember their services. Unfortunately, there are many such neglected people living in Bangalore today.
Balakrishna was one of the best comedians we had. He was a great actor. His dream was to build a studio which will serve the kannada film industry. When he started working on his dream project, He faced tons of obstacles and difficulties during the construction of his Abhimaan studio. But due to his determination and courage, he managed to complete the construction. He expected encouragement from the Kannada Film Industry. He dreamt that great films will be made in his studio, but his dreams never turned into reality.
He lost all his money and property. He had to beg for good roles in movies. He acted in several movies for ridiculously small amount money. When he died, he was very poor. Sadly this is the fate of almost all the great actors of yesteryears.
Today Vajramuni, the dynamic villain of kannada films is in deep financial crisis. He is also ill.
He is struggling to make a living. No one from the film industry has come forward to help him. Vajramuni is known to be a man with a heart of gold. He has helped many people when they were in difficulty. But today the same people are least bothered about him. Now a days Vajramuni is not acting in any films. He lives a low profile life in his Bangalore residence. The man who was once called a Lion for his wonderful voice has stopped roaring.
If you are a fan of Dr Rajkumar then you are probably a fan of Ashvath too. He is an excellent actor, a wonderful human being, a man who has always lived a simple life. Since he has stopped acting in kannada films, Ashvath is living a very low profile life in Mysore; I met him in a market in Mysore a couple of years ago. I could not believe that it is the same great man.
That is when I realized that not everybody in the film industry is rich. When ashvath had to undergo an operation very few people offered him help. it is such a shame that the people in the film industry tend to forget such great actors who were part of the industry for such a long time.
Today, they spend crores of rupees to make a film and the actors too are well paid. But ten years ago, it was not the case. Actors like balanna, ashvath and vajramuni have acted in films for a a few thousands of rupees. In today’s expensive city life-style, Ashvath and Vajramuni are finding it difficult to survive.
If this is the condition of great actors like Ashvath and Vajramuni, imagine the condition of several junior artists and other technicians. Sadly no one in the industry seems to bother. Most of them are selfish and selfcentered. They fail to recognize the contributions made by their senior counterparts. Unfortunatly, this is how the industry works. Here the heroes are the men who have name fame and fortune. The men without them are completely neglected. That is why, for me these neglected people are “THE UNSUNG HEROES”.

His unique mannerisms and dialogue delivery are treat to watch.

Balakrishna is one of the stalwerts of KFI who has highest regard for KFI and kannada films.
He put all his earnings to built a studio called abhimaan. but except vajreshwari no body used it properly and he has to incur huge losess and spend his life in poverty.
Balakrishna was also an amazing actor who effertelessly fitted in many shades of charecters like a comedian, a chrecter acter, a villian etc.
His performance in ” Bangarada Manushaya” as a chrector acter is one of the highlight of the film.
His performance as a villian in “Sampattige sawaal” and his dialogues in that film was also one of the highlights of that moview.
He has amazing conviction to make his role appear real. In charecter role he lived a role of a good samratian, while as villian he was more cunning than any of our villains in KFI.
He has peculier dialogue delivery which was very popular with the audience and mimics.
As a comedian he was only second best to Narasimha raju.
Anothet amazing thing was he was a deaf but never allowed it to hinder is acting carrier. He used to remember the lenghthiest of dialogues and used to reproduce it just by the judgement of the reaction of his opposite acters with atmost precision and conviction, so that no body could feel that he could not hear.

Genuine actor.
He has done extremely brilliant in Kannteredu noDu, Bangarada manushya, Kavirathna kalidaasa, Sampathige savaal..etc!

I have always considered Balanna second only to Dr. Raj in talent. He was a fantastic presence in tens of movies.
