Poojyaya Raghavendraya Sathya Dharma Rathayacha
Bhajatham Kalpavrukshaya Namatham Kamadenuve
(The worship of Sri Raghavendraswamy, who is the embodiment of Sathya and Dharma (Truth and Righteousness), bestows whatever boon one aspires like Kalpavruksha, the Celestial Tree, and Kamadhenu, the Celestial Cow. Incessant chanting of this hymn is a panacea for all ills and problems in life, especially in this age of tension. Also, chanting of `Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha,” helps immensely.)
Starting tomorrow, for the next three days, the 335th Aradhana of Sri Guru Raghavendraswamy (Rayaru, to all his devotees) is going to be celebrated.
The ‘Live’ telecast of Sri Raghavendraswamy’s 334th Aradhana Mahotsava on August 21, 2005 came as a boon to many devotees who could not attend the religious ceremony held at Mantralaya. The telecast made true the belief that ‘Rayaru’ comes to the homes of the devotees when the latter cannot visit the former at Mantralaya. The telecast was crisp and neatly packaged by ETV-Kannada. The ‘Panchamrutha abhisheka’ that one saw was undertaken on a massive scale. But it was not pleasing to see the priests walking on the milk, curds, honey, sugar and fruits that was poured on the ‘Brindavana’.
It would be better to have a temporary high-raised platform during abhisheka in such a way that the priests need not walk on the ‘Abhisheka’ during the sacred ceremony and get drenched themselves while pouring the offerings on the Brindavana. The devotees taking the ‘Panchamrutha theertha’ would certainly not mind some cleanliness within the sanctum sanctorum.
